Experience Lab: workshops on hospitality, sustainable and accessible tourism for 40 young participants

The “Cava Experience” project promotes the enhancement of the territory of Cava de’ Tirreni. In October, the “Experience Lab” was launched – a training course for people neither in Employment or in Education or Training (NEET) – with 40 participants selected to take part in 3 free workshops on the challenges of sustainable and accessible tourism and the evolution of the concept of hospitality.

The event – which was held in October – saw the participation of industry experts from Confindustria Salerno, such as Luigi Schiavo for “sustainable tourism”, Paola Postiglione for “accessible tourism” and Giampiero Pierro for the “evolution of the concept of hospitality”.

In the first phase of the workshop, the young participants listened to the talks and testimonies of success given by the entrepreneurs of “Confindustria Salerno” and had the chance to ask questions and share their views on the issues chosen.

At the end of the first phase of the workshop, the 40 young participants were divided into teams with the task to design tourist offers to promote the territory. The aim was not only to train participants but also to allow them to share their personal experiences and the different agents at work on the territory.

The participants’ ideas and perspectives were later presented to experts of the field and to a specifically created Commission, which was charged with carefully examining the proposals, skills, and potential of the individual participants. Lastly, the assessment and evaluation of the projects developed have led to the selection of 21 participants who can access the second phase of the Experience Lab training and work program, with 120 hours of training and the opportunity to gain work experience in companies co-selected with Confindustria Salerno.
